Kolkata: Sharbari Dutta, the bright star of the fashion world, is no more. Her death has cast a shadow of mourning over the entire industry. Her close friends have approached police demanding a full probe into the death of the fashion designer. Although the autopsy report of designer Sharbari Dutta mentions bleeding in the brain, her relatives have requested authorities to investigate the “abnormal” death.

According to media sources, Sharbari Dutta's friends told the police in Lalbazar that she had been suffering from mental torture for a long time. In particular, there are allegations against son Amalin Dutta and daughter-in-law. Relatives also said that Sharbari was emotionally disturbed by the behaviour of her son and daughter-in-law. Therefore, she used to take a lot of medicines.

People were unable to believe when they heard news that Sharbari Dutta is no more. It is a huge loss to the fashion industry. Her appearance and elegance amazed everyone. The way she wore thick kajal under the eyes, heavy jewellery around the neck and ears, finger rings with various designs was absolutely iconic.

Sharbari Dutta, 63, was found dead in the bathroom of her residence on Broad Street in south Kolkata on September 17 evening. Her body was recovered from the bathroom. A case of unnatural death was registered, and the body was sent for post-mortem examination. There were injury marks on her ankle.

Sharbari’s son Amalin Dutta said, “I had last seen my mother on Wednesday. I hadn’t seen her on Thursday. I thought she was busy and had gone out for work. Both of us remained so busy that we didn’t get to meet every day. Later, we found her body in the bathroom.”

It is said that Sharbari Dutta used to take many kinds of medicines. However, the doctor who was called to attend to her stated, “There was blood on the side of her body in the bathroom. Not only that, there was also a scar on the side of the ear. It was not known how long the body was lying there.”

Sharwari's daughter-in-law claimed that Sharbari had been taking hormonal drugs over a long duration, which allegedly caused heavy blood flow in the bathroom.
