A new survey has projected that the Bharatiya Janata Party is could retain power in Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Goa and Uttarakhand in the assembly elections scheduled for early next year.Ā

Punjab

As for Punjab, the ABP C-Voter survey has predicted that a hung assembly with the Aam Aadmi Party is likely to emerge as the single largest party. The AAP is seen emerging as among the main challengers in Uttarakhand and Goa.Ā

Survey data suggests that in Punjab, the AAP is projected to win 49 to 55 seats while the Congress wins 39-47 seats. The BJP is predicted to win just one seat in the state.

AAP is projected to pocket 35.9 per cent of the vote share followed by 31.8 per cent for Congress.

Goa

In Goa, BJP is expected to fare better than it did in 2017. The party is projected to win 24 to 28 seats out of a total of 40 this time around. The Congress is expected to face yet another drubbing in the state with the survey predicting that the grand old party would lose more ground in the state.Ā

Congress party loss is seen to work in favour of AAP. According to the ABP C-Voter survey, AAP is seen to be gaining over 22 per cent of the vote share. That's just second behind the 37.5 per cent vote share projected for the BJP.

Uttar Pradesh Ā

The ABP C-Voter survey prediction for Uttar Pradesh is on similar lines with the Asianet News Mood of the Voters survey conducted in August which predicted that the BJP would not have a sweep as it did in 2017 but would still be the single largest party by a big margin.

The latest projection suggests that BJP could win 241 to 249 seats out of the 403 assembly seats. The Samajwadi Party could win 130-138 seats while Mayawati's BSP may win 15-19 seats.

The Congress, which managed to win just 7 seats in the last assembly elections, is unlikely to come up with a better performance this time around either with the survey offering it just 3-7 seats in the election.

As for vote share, the BJP is projected to garner 41.3 per cent of the votes, improving slightly on its 2017 tally of 39.67 per cent. The Samajwadi Party is expected to significantly improve its vote share with 32.4 per cent this time compared to 21.8 per cent. The SP is seen to be eating into the BSP and Congress vote share.Ā

Uttarakhand

In Uttarakhand, the survey shows the BJP with a clear majority with 42 to 46 seats in the 70-member assembly. The Congress is expected to come a distant second with 21 to 25 seats.

The BJP is projected to shed some of its vote share, securing over 44 per cent of the votes in the state compared to 46.5 per cent in the 2017 elections. On the other hand, Congress is seen to marginally improve its vote share from 33.5 per cent in 2017 to a projected 34 per cent in 2022.

Manipur

In Manipur, the ABP C-Voter survey predicts a close finish with BJP ahead of the Congress yet barely touching the halfway mark in the 60 member assembly.

The BJP is expected to in 26-30 seats compared to 21-25 for the Congress. BJP's ally, the NPF is projected to win 4-8 seats.
