The margin inched slightly close in Samajwadi Party's favour when people were explicitly asked who they thought was best to govern the state.

As you see above, while 48 per cent of people wanted to see Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government in power, 40 per cent favoured Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party government in the state.

The survey shows how handling the law and order situation in the state has earned the Chief Minister good points. However, his government's handling of Covid-19 and the pandemic-triggered inflation could become major talking points in the 2022 election.

At the third spot, was BSP which won a mere 19 out of the 403 seats the party contested.
