Digvijay, a non-performer? Party removes him as Goa, Karnataka in-charge

FollowIt has been reported that Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh has been relieved off his charges as the party caretaker in Telangana. Although it has been cited as a part of incremental changes in the organisation, it is believed that the party is unhappy with Singh's performance.
It is also being said that even Goa and Karnataka has been taken from him, leaving him with just Andhra Pradesh. The party's dissatisfaction with the leader first transpired when it failed to form the government in Goa, despite winning more seats than the BJP. AICC secretary R C Khuntia will now replace Singh, while Satish Jarkiholi has been named as AICC secretary to assist him. Khuntia is a senior party official and was looking after Telangana and AP affairs after Singh.
His leadership in Andhra Pradesh has also hit a dry patch and the party is apparently waiting for vice-president Rahul Gandhi's instructions on whether to let him be the in charge there. Some reports suggest that Gandhi may wait for his elevation at the end of the organisational polls to complete the reshuffle. While in charge of Telangana, Singh hit the headlines for making sensational accusations like Telangana police creating fake Islamic State website to trap Muslim youths.
In fact, he faced complaints from a section of the party leaders for his dismal performance in the assembly polls followed by byelections. It is also said that Congress has failed to launch a campaign against the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi, despite the hardships by the farmers and the poor there.
