The attack on temples which is rampant in Andhra Pradesh seems to have entered into bordering Tamil Nadu as well as a 250-year-old Amman Temple was targeted by a Christian man as he painted the temple premises with Jesus Cross.

The incident was reported from Lellapalli, a small village near Andhra-Tamil Nadu border in Tiruppur district a few days ago.

The man is accused of desecrating Hindu God's statue and temple 'hundi' (donation box) earlier too.

However, he seems to be adamant and is accused of issuing threats and uses vulgar language when confronted for painting Jesus Cross inside and outside the temple.

As per reports, after Pongal celebration and puja a few days back in the temple, the villagers went to sleep, but the accused was awake and came armed with paint tin and brush and attacked the temple.

Before the situation could turn volatile, the police who received the complaint, swung into action and arrested the accused.
