An alert Indian Army deployed at the Keran Sector of North Kashmir detected movement along the banks of the Kishen Ganga River following which a joint operation was launched with the J&K Police.

Sources said that at 8:30PM on Friday, surveillance detachment on the Line of Control detected the movement. An hour and a half later, the surveillance teams again detected 2-3 terrorists trying to transport some items in a tube tied to a rope from far bank of the river in PoK.

Troops immediately reached the location and recovered two bags containing four AK 74 rifles, eight magazines and 240 AK Rifle ammunition.

The area is cordoned off and search operation is under progress.
