A former TMC leader Susanta Pal punished himself by doing sit-ups holding his ears as he joined the BJP in the presence of Suvendu Adhikari.

Suvendu Adhikari's meeting was held in Pingla on Wednesday (March 3). At the end of the meeting, the local leader Sushant Pal left the TMC and joined the BJP.

Susanta Pal said, “I am now repenting and asking for forgiveness and this is a small punishment that I have given to myself,”

Susanta Pal also said that he was earlier in BJP but joined TMC in 2005 to defeat the left-front government.

The BJP leaders on the stage were perplexed to see an adult man behaving in such a strange manner. Shuvendu turned to the other side to avoid discomfort. Meanwhile, laughter rolls in the audience.

Trinamool has criticized the incident. Trinamool district secretary Ajit Maiti said, “If you want to join the BJP, you have to plead in front of the leaders. That is their culture. Sushant was never my follower. He has not had any contact with the team for four years.”
