Rujira Banerjee, wife of TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee, responded to the CBI notice saying the sleuths may visit her residence between 11 am and 3 pm on Tuesday (February 23).

The CBI on Sunday (February 21) visited the residence of Abhishek Banerjee to serve a notice to his wife for questioning in connection with a coal smuggling case.

In the letter, Rujira Banerjee informed the CBI that she received the notice on Sunday but was unavailable. She said in the letter that CBI officials could meet him on Tuesday between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Rujira Banerjee wrote in her letter to the CBI on Monday (February 22) morning, “Though I am unaware of the reason for me being called for questioning on the subject matter of the investigation, you may visit my residence as per your convenience between 11 am and 3 pm tomorrow i.e February 23, 2021.”

Meanwhile, the DIG (ECBI) and other officials have already started discussing the matter through video conferencing with Delhi officials at the Nizam's Palace. After receiving Rujira's letter on Monday, the CBI ruled out the possibility of sending her a second notice.

It is learned that a team from CBI will go to interrogate Rujira Banerjee tomorrow. There will also be female officers. CBI officials have already started discussing what questions will be asked to Rujira.
