Sharad Pawar, Mamata Banerjee to hold joint election rally in Bengal
Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee will address a joint campaign rally for the West Bengal assembly polls that will start from March 27.
NCP chief spokesperson, Mahesh Tapase said, “Sharad Pawar will campaign in West Bengal in support of Mamata Banerjee. He will be on a three-day visit to the state from April 1, to hold various rallies, press conferences and meet Mamata Banerjee and Trinamool Congress workers at Trinamool Bhavan.”
Sharad Pawar is scheduled to hold meetings in the Dumdum parliamentary constituency represented by senior TMC leader Saugata Roy and other venues.
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav and Sharad Pawar have decided to support the ruling Trinamool Congress in the upcoming Bengal polls.
Apart from Sharad Pawar, Jharkhand chief minister and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha chief Hemant Soren held three rallies in Purulia and Bankura districts that border his state and Bengal on March 24.
Elections to the 294-member state Assembly will be held in eight phases starting from March 27. The results will be announced on May 2.
