People of Nandigram have respected you and you are defaming them; Modi attacks Mamata
The Prime Minister and BJP's star campaigner Narendra Modi held a rally in Kanthi on Wednesday (March 24) in support of the BJP's candidate from that centre. After the speech, he attacked the TMC on the issue of Katmani and Tolabaji.
Modi accused Mamata of defaming the people of Nandigram. He said, “Didi is trying to defame the people of Nandigram. Making false allegations against them. You will get the answer in the ballot box.”
One of the slogans of the TMC for the upcoming elections is ‘Khela Hobe’. The Chief Minister says these two words in the campaign meeting almost every day and significantly mentions that she will play with broken legs. In response, the BJP leadership has repeatedly said they will play the game of development.
On Wednesday, the Prime Minister also responded in his own style. In his words, “Didi, you play the game. We will not play. We will serve. The only mantra of the BJP is the income of the poor, the home of the poor, the respect of the poor. Didi, the people of Bengal have understood your game.”
Nandigram is a very important centre in Bengal politics. This area of East Midnapore played an important role in Mamata's fight to end the 34-year left rule in Bengal. Nandigram also played a significant role in bringing the Trinamool to power in the 2011 Assembly elections. In 10 years, the situation has changed a lot.
This time the Adhikari family is practically on the side of BJP. Mamata Banerjee has become the candidate of Nandigram. The Trinamool leader got injuries in her leg on the day of submitting the nomination papers in Nandigram. She has repeatedly accused the BJP of conspiracy. Mamata blamed the BJP for plotting against her and injuring her. On Wednesday, Modi used Mamata's allegation as a tool. His counter-claim is that Mamata is trying to defame the people of Nandigram.
