Mamata mocks PM Modi; says India will be named after him one day
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday (March 8) mocked PM Modi by highlighting the issue of renaming stadiums with his name and inclusion of his picture on COVID-19 vaccination certificates.
Mamata Banerjee said that the day is not far when the whole country will be renamed after him.
While addressing a rally in Kolkata for International Women's Day, Banerjee said, “The Prime Minister has named a stadium after him. He has put his photographs on COVID-19 vaccination certificates. He is making ISRO send his picture to space. A day will come when the country will be named after him.”
Referring to Modi’s Brigade rally,Mamata said that Modi had turned Brigade into B-Grade. “The BJP leaders will come to Bengal only during elections and spread canards and lies. He is lecturing us on women's safety. What is the situation of women in BJP-ruled states? What is the situation in Modi's favourite Gujarat?" she said.
The CM also said that PM Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah should pay more attention to BJP-ruled states, including "model state" Gujarat, where most of the crimes and violence take place.
Expressing confidence of returning to power for the third consecutive time, Mamata Banerjee alleged the BJP leaders come to West Bengal only during elections and spread canards and lies.
