Don’t give a single vote to BJP unless it gives you free cooking gas: Mamata Banerjee
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee led a 'padayatra' in Siliguri to protest against the steep hike in fuel prices, including LPG cylinders.
Mamata Banerjee attacked PM Modi from the meeting at Siliguri. She said, “Before the Prime Minister starts campaigning in Bengal, just ask him why the price of cooking gas has gone up so much? Why the price of oil is going up? Why do you have to buy gas for 850 rupees? How much does it cost you? When will you give free gas?”
The CM said to the people not give a single vote to the BJP until it gives you a free cooking gas and decrease the fuel prices.
“We will stage a protest march in Siliguri tomorrow against the rise in cooking gas price, carrying LPG cylinders during the protest,” Banerjee said.
In North Bengal, the BJP has done well in the Lok Sabha elections. But did not improve. Raising this allegation, the Trinamool leader said, “The BJP said it would open all tea gardens. But could not open one. The state government has built the road. Now the center says it will build the road. What will happen to the existing road now?”
Trinamool Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party are at loggerheads ahead of Assembly polls in West Bengal. West Bengal Assembly elections will be held in eight phases starting from March 27.
