Avoiding blue ticks? Here's how you can read WhatsApp messages without opening chats
While it is apparent to read WhatsApp messages by expanding notifications in the notification panel, there are other ways to view messages without launching the programme.
Here are several tips on how to read messages without opening the chat.
1. Go to the home screen and long-press on display to bring up a menu on your smartphone's screen.
2. Now, go to Widgets, where you'll find a plethora of shortcuts. Select WhatsApp shortcuts.
3. This will take you to a page with many WhatApp widgets, from which you must select the "4x1 WhatsApp" widget.
4. Hold the widget and drag it to your home screens. After you've added the widget to your home screen, simply long-press it to enlarge it.
Users will be able to view messages without having to open the chat window. One will also be able to view all previous unread messages. It's worth noting that if you click on any of the conversations on the widget, the chat in the app will open, letting the sender know that you've seen the message.
To prevent informing the other person that a message has been read, users who receive a message on WhatsApp Web should just place the cursor on the conversation. Users will be able to view a floating message as a result of this.
Users will not have to open the chat to check the message on the online version if this approach is used. It should be noted that readers will only be able to view the most recent messages and not older ones.
