Neeraj Chopra, Manpreet Singh, Lovlina Borgohain among athletes to receive Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna award
The Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna award will be awarded on November 13. Meanwhile, Neeraj Chopra, Manpreet Singh, Lovlina Borgohain and many more would be receiving the prestigious award.
The Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna award is all set to be awarded to the deserving athletes on November 13 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Ahead of the same, the athletes who would be receiving the honourable award have been revealed, including Olympians like Neeraj Chopra, Manpreet Singh and Lovlina Borgohain.
Manpreet was initially scheduled to receive the Arjuna Award before being promoted to the most reputable award. He would be doing so along with his hockey teammate and goalkeeper PR Sreejesh. While Chopra happens to be a gold-medalist in Tokyo Olympics 2020, in the javelin throw category, Lovlina won the bronze in boxing in Tokyo.

A total of 12 athletes would be receiving the Khel Ratna award. In comparison, 35 athletes have been selected for the Arjuna Award, including a couple of top cricketers: Shikhar Dhawan and Mithali Raj.
