ISL 2020-21: Loss to Mumbai City would have no implications against FC Goa, feels ATK Mohun Bagan's Tiri
ATK Mohun Bagan is currently placed second, as it takes on FC Goa in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2020-21, on Sunday. The former is coming off a loss to table topper, Mumbai City FC in its last game. Tiri joined the side last year, having previously played for ATK in 2015 and 2016.
Indian Super League (ISL) giant, ATK Mohun Bagan faces off against third-placed FC Goa in the 2020-21 edition of the tournament, on Sunday. The side is currently placed second in the table, while it is coming off a loss against table-topper, Mumbai City FC.
ATKMB had won its last leg against Goa. However, club's Spanish defender, Tiri feels that what's happened in the past, including the loss against Mumbai, hardly matters, as Sunday would be a fresh start for the side.
"That game has already passed. As the game ended, we are now only thinking of Goa! We have to continue with the same seriousness as in the previous games. They have very good players. It will be a difficult game," said Tiri during the pre-match press conference.
While the side looks on course to qualify for playoffs, Tiri feels its a long shot, as the side is focusing on the task at hand. "We are not thinking about the playoff right now. We want to go match by match!" he said.
Speaking on the new normal, of training during the pandemic and staying in the bubble, Tiri said, "Like us, there are the other teams also. It is what we have to do because of the pandemic and we have to adapt as best as possible."
