This was Chennaiyin FC's second win of the season in six games, along with a couple of draws and losses, as it stays in the eighth spot. Meanwhile, FC Goa suffered a third defeat of the season in seven games, along with two draws and losses, as it slipped to the seventh spot.

FC Goa's rusty form of the season continued, as it went down to a former champion, Channeiyin FC, in the Indian Super League (ISL) at the Fatorda Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday. The win allowed Chennaiyin to stay in the eighth spot, while Goa has slipped to seventh.

The opening half was off to an attacking start from the former champion, who came up with twin attacks in the first three minutes. It was in the fourth minute when Rafael Crivellaro put his side ahead with a left-footed strike in a long-range effort from the right to the top-left corner.
