In what turned out to be a frustrating encounter, Bengaluru FC's winless streak continued with a 1-1 draw to NorthEast United FC, in the 2020-21 Indian Super League (ISL), at the Tilak Maidan in Goa, on Tuesday. With this draw, both the sides maintained their place in the table, on sixth and seventh, respectively.
The opening half saw three attacks within the 26th minute, including a save from NEU goalkeeper, Gurmeet Singh. Meanwhile, the same minute saw NEU strike first, with Luís Machado's left-footed shot into the centre, six yards from left, following an assist from Federico Gallego.
Seven more attacks followed in the half, including twin saves from the keeper of both. However, NEU managed to hold on to the slender lead at the half-time.
The second half saw the first attack coming in the 48th from Bengaluru, as Rahul Bheke levelled it for the side with his left foot to the bottom-right from outside the box, assisted by Dimas Delgado from a set-piece. It was followed by ten more attempts, including twin saves from Bengaluru keeper, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, with both the teams failing to find the net again, as they shared the honours at the full-time whistle.
