Five minutes into the second half, NEU came up with a couple of attacks. However, it was in the 52nd minute when Aniket Jadhav's close-range right-footed shot, to the top of the goal, put Jamshedpur ahead, following an assist from Jackichand Singh.
It was followed by an attack each from both sides before Jamsehdpur's Stephen Eze conceded a penalty to NEU in the 64th minute. However, Jamshedpur goalkeeper, Rehenesh TP, saved the spot-kick from Idrissa Sylla.
Meanwhile, following the saved penalty, Jamshedpur switched to their defensive mood, coming up with just an attack in the remaining game time, while NEU came up with a couple. However, none could find the net, as the referee blew the full-time whistle, with Jamshedpur walking away with the three points.
