West Bengal registers 3,489 fresh COVID-19 cases; 46 deaths reported
A total of 3,489 persons tested positive for COVID-19 and 46 persons died in the state of West Bengal over the past 24 hours. As many as 3,496 persons were cured of the infection. The number of active cases further decreased and became 24,617 on Friday (November 27).
According to the State Health Bulletin, West Bengal’s COVID-19 death toll climbed to 8,270 after 46 more patients succumbed to the virus on Friday.
The COVID-19 tally went up to 4,73,987 with 3,489 fresh cases. However, the recovery rate improved to 93.06 percent as 3,496 people recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours.
Out of the 46 deaths, 39 were primarily due to comorbidities where COVID-19 was incidental.
Kolkata also topped the list of fresh cases with 893 infections, North 24 Parganas (858), South 24 Parganas (230), Hooghly (198), and Howrah (150).
Darjeeling registered 102 new cases on Friday and the total tally has gone up to 15,063. Nadia has witnessed 239 new cases in the past 24 hours whereas the total tally has gone up to 17,769.
According to statistics, West Bengal now has 24,617 active cases. Since Thursday, 45,127 samples have been tested for COVID-19, taking the total number of such clinical examinations to 57,44,364.
