Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Weather Update: With the monsoon becoming active and the low pressure in the Bay of Bengal intensifying into a depression, the already heavy rains in the Telugu states will intensify... The Meteorological Department is warning that heavy rains will continue throughout July. It warned that there are chances of cloudburst i.e. sudden downpours in some areas.

Flood conditions

Due to the ongoing rains, rivers, streams and bends are overflowing dangerously... Reservoirs are full and gates are being lifted to release water. Ponds burst and flood water inundates villages. Traffic is disrupted as flood water reaches roads and bridges. Thus, flood conditions have prevailed in the Telugu states. Warnings that heavy rains will continue for a few more days in such a situation are causing concern.

If this situation continues for another four or five days, the severity of the floods will increase further. So the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have become alert. Along with disaster management organizations, NDRF, SDRS personnel have been prepared... In Hyderabad, GHMC, Hydra personnel are undertaking relief measures. Both governments have announced toll-free helpline numbers to provide information if people are in any trouble.

In the wake of heavy rains across Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu held a review on the latest situation. Talking to the officials, he suggested that precautionary measures should be taken so that people do not face any trouble and accidents do not happen. The people of the state were also advised to be alert. In this order, Home Minister Vangapudi Anita suggested that people can call the toll-free numbers 112, 1070, 1800 425 0101 for help.

Helpline numbers for Telangana people

The government has also become alert in the wake of heavy rains inundating Telangana. It is raining continuously especially in Hyderabad. The Meteorological Department has announced that this rain is likely to continue. In this background, GHMC has set up a toll-free number 040-21111111 for the people of Greater Hyderabad. You can call the Hydra helpline number 90001 13667 for help.

In case of emergency, you can call the police at 100, Fire and Rescue at 101, Ambulance at 108 or 102, and State Control Room at 1070. For electricity problems, you can complain to TSNPDCL customer care numbers 1800 425 0028, 1912.

Rains in Telangana today

The Meteorological Department has announced that heavy to very heavy rains will occur in Telangana on Saturday. The Meteorological Department has warned that heavy rains will occur in Adilabad, Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Kothagudem, Mahabubnagar, Warangal and Hanamkonda districts. It warned that thunderstorms and gusts of wind will occur.
