Tamil Nadu Weather LATEST update: Rain alert issued for THESE 13 districts; Check forecast

Tamil Nadu has experienced widespread rain and cool weather over the past few days. The Chennai Meteorological Department has predicted moderate rainfall in 13 districts today

Tamil Nadu was experiencing scorching heat, surpassing even summer temperatures. This made people hesitant to venture outside. However, in the past few days, widespread rain has brought a welcome coolness to the state. Temperatures have also decreased, although a few areas still experience intense sunshine.

Today, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is expected in a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. Strong surface winds, reaching 40 to 50 km/h, are also possible in some areas. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in isolated areas of the Nilgiris and Coimbatore hill regions, while heavy rain is expected in parts of Theni and Tenkasi districts.

Chennai and its suburbs are expected to have partly cloudy skies today, with a chance of light rain in some areas. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 35-36°C, and the minimum temperature around 27-28°C, according to the Meteorological Department.

The Meteorological Department has predicted moderate rainfall in 13 districts of Tamil Nadu within the next 3 hours, until 1 PM. These districts include Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Theni, Dindigul, Tenkasi, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Tiruvallur, Ranipet, and Thoothukudi.
