Karnataka minister CT Ravi quits Cabinet after being appointed BJP general secretary
The sources said the minister submitted his resignation to chief minister BS Yediyurappa on October 3.
Karnataka Kannada, Culture and Tourism minister CT Ravi resigned from the Cabinet; sources close to him said on Sunday (October 4).
Ravi's resignation comes in the backdrop of him being appointed BJP national general secretary on September 26.
The sources said the minister submitted his resignation to chief minister BS Yediyurappa on Saturday.
The development was not unexpected in view of his appointment to the party post and Ravi had on Thursday said he has kept his resignation letter ready.
In a major overhaul within the ranks of Bharatiya Janata Party, BJP, JP Nadda announced 23 new office bearers on September 26.
Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar was appointed as the BJP national spokesperson. Meanwhile, MP Tejasvi Surya was appointed party's youth wing president, replacing Poonam Mahajan.
