Xiaomi teases Redmi 9 Power, likely unveil on December 15
Xiaomi has started teasing what appears to be the launch of the Redmi Power 9 smartphone.
The teaser on Redmi India's Twitter handle begins with the tag line "Power comes to those who seek it" and signs off with the hashtag 'PowerPacked'.
Xiaomi's teaser confirmed that the device will offer a quad rear camera setup, which will include a 48MP primary sensor. It will even come with fast charging support.
Media reports suggest that Redmi Power 9 could be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 9 4G currently in use in China. The resolution of the screen is 1080 x 2400 pixels and is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The new device may come with a 6.53-inch FHD+ LCD display and get the power from an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC teamed up with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage space.
The model that is currently available in China is powered by a non-removable Li-Po 6000mAh battery that comes with an 18W fast charging support. It is also expected to run on MIUI 12 out-of-the-box.
The smartphone is expected to be unveiled officially on December 15. A Google Play Console listing had recently suggested the existence of the Redmi 9 Power with model number M2010J19SI.
Redmi Note 9 4G starts at CNY 999 or Rs 11,300 in China. Redmi 9 Power is expected to be priced around the same when it launches in India.
