Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have been seen talking about their relationship in media and public, now fans have been waiting for them to get married; but when it is happening? Read this
Since Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have made their relationship public, fans have been waiting for them to get married. A few months ago, in an interview, Rajeev Masand Ranbir talked about his love life and marriage.
Ranbir had said that he and Alia were to get married in 2020, but then Covid-19 struck. He said, "It would’ve been sealed had the pandemic not hit our lives. I don’t want to jinx it by saying anything. I want to tick-mark that goal very soon in my life."
Ranbir also talked about Alia. "My girlfriend Alia is a bit of an overachiever, and she probably took every class there is -- from guitar to screenwriting. I always feel like an underachiever next to her. But no, I didn’t take any classes. Initially, we were dealing with the family crisis, and then I got into reading, spent time with my family, and I watch two-three films every day," he said at the time.
Many reports gave out “details” on the “possible wedding” like the ceremony held in France. The couple had already booked caterers and had confidential meetings with famous designer Sabyasachi. Most of the time, these rumours turned out to be false.
Earlier, there were reports of Alia and Ranbir wanting to get married in 2020 but after the demise of Ranbir's father, Rishi Kapoor, things changed.
Talking about the delay in the marriage, Alia spoke to Pinkvilla and declined the news of marriage anytime soon.
Back then in 2019, Alia talked about wedding plans, "When will I marry? Why is everyone asking me when I'm going to get married? You know I'm only 25 years old, and I think it's too soon to get married right now."
The father of the would-be bride, Mahesh Bhatt, also talked about the wedding news. "Well, of course, they're in love. You don't need to be a genius to get that! What they do to their relationship is something they'll have to figure out. Whether it's heading towards that port called 'marriage' - which is an institution that needs to be questioned in the second decade of the 21st century - is something for them to figure out. I'm no one to hazard a guess when that would happen or which way the relationship is going. Its life and life needs to be lived on its own terms. Let's wait and see what tomorrow brings for us!," Bhatt Saab had said.
Alia's mother Soni Razdan also talked about Ranbir. In an interview with BollywoodLife.com, she said, "It's her personal life. Ranbir is a lovely boy. I think whoever Alia has dated before or will date, (it) is her choice and her life. I'll always support her but I don't think I should discuss this you know. It's not right on my part to discuss (her personal life) in public. As a mom, I'm just happy if she is happy."
