Producer Boney Kapoor's friend Satish Kaushik debuted as the director for this movie. A few years back, Satish Kaushik apologised to Boney Kapoor, who produced the film, for delivering a box-office failure, which left him bankrupt.

A few years, back Satish Kaushik shared a poster of the film Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja on Twitter featuring Anil Kapoor, Sridevi, Jackie Shroff and Anupam Kher. He said, "Yes 25 yrs ago it was a disaster at BO bt it was my first child & will remain close to heart."

Twitterati later appreciated Satish Kaushik for showing the courage to accept the film's failure and tendering apologies years later.

Some wrote that the film was ahead of its time and they enjoyed watching it. The budget of this movie was Rs 9.2 crore, whereas the box office collection was only Rs 2.7 crore.
