Alpha CBFC Review: Alia Bhatt's Spy Thriller Gets UA 16+ Certificate, Runtime Revealed
With its theatrical release just around the corner, Alia Bhatt's Alpha has cleared its final censor hurdle. The CBFC has revealed the film's certification, runtime and an intriguing plot synopsis, raising excitement for the action thriller

Alpha Gets UA 16+ Certification; Runtime Confirmed
Alia Bhatt and Sharvari's much-awaited action thriller Alpha has officially received a UA 16+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), clearing the way for its worldwide theatrical release on July 3.
The CBFC listing confirms that the film has a runtime of 140 minutes, or 2 hours and 20 minutes. Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha marks Alia Bhatt's first full-fledged action film and introduces her as the first female spy in the YRF Spy Universe.
The movie also stars Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles, making it one of the biggest Bollywood releases of the year.

CBFC Synopsis Reveals Sita's Revenge-Driven Journey
Along with the certification, the CBFC listing has revealed the film's official plot summary, offering the first detailed insight into Alia Bhatt's character, Sita.
According to the synopsis, Sita is a fearless young woman driven by revenge who leaves destruction in her wake. However, as her mission unfolds, she begins uncovering hidden truths about her own life, forcing her to confront a much deeper reality than she initially imagined.
The trailer has already teased her intense transformation through powerful action sequences, memorable dialogues and emotionally charged moments. It also hints at Bobby Deol's mysterious role, Sharvari's action-packed presence and a confrontation involving Anil Kapoor. Fans have also spotted glimpses suggesting an extended cameo by Hrithik Roshan, further connecting Alpha to the larger YRF Spy Universe.
Mystery Around Characters Remains Intact Ahead of Release
Despite releasing a teaser and trailer, the makers have deliberately kept several major story elements under wraps.
During a promotional event in Jaipur, Alia Bhatt explained that audiences have only seen a small portion of the film. She said the team intentionally avoided revealing key details about not only Anil Kapoor's character but also the roles played by herself, Sharvari and Bobby Deol, so viewers can enjoy the surprises in theatres.
Interestingly, the makers have also chosen not to release any songs before the film's premiere, a rare strategy aimed at preserving the theatrical experience.
Produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha is the latest addition to the YRF Spy Universe. The film carries high expectations as it looks to inject fresh momentum into the popular franchise while facing competition from Welcome To The Jungle and the upcoming Dhamaal 4 at the box office.
