Sachin Tendulkar and other cricket stars unite to support India amidst COVID pandemic
India is currently going through a severe crisis involving the COVID-19 pandemic, lacking enough oxygen supplies to treat the patients. Meanwhile, cricketers worldwide are uniting to support the nation during this challenging time by donating their part for oxygen.

FollowIndia continues to struggle as the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic is sweeping through the entire nation. With cases on a record rise (3.80 lakh-plus by Thursday), the shortage of oxygen supply, along with the unavailability of enough beds in the Intensive Care Unit, the situation is grim.

Meanwhile, the Indian celebrities, including cricketers from India and globally, are doing their part to help India curb the crisis. It all began this week when Australian pacer Pat Cummins contributed $50,000 to PM Care Relief Fund for the cause, followed by former Australian speargun Brett Lee, who donated a bitcoin.
In the meantime, Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has done his part by contributing ₹1 crore towards 'Mission Oxygen' to procure oxygen concentrators for the COVID patients country. "His donation of Rs 1 crore to 'Mission Oxygen' in its endeavour to procure and provide life-saving oxygen concentrators to hospitals across the nation in this time of need is incredibly heart-warming," said Mission Oxygen in a statement, reports IANS.
Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Shreevats Goswami, too, has done his part with Donatekart and Hemkunt Foundation. "Several verified/legit NGOs like the @Hemkunt_Fdn are doing their bit during this crisis, @donatekart helps you to reach them, I have done my bit. Requesting people who can afford please reach out and help as much as you can. We are in this together 🙏," he wrote on Twitter.
Meanwhile, on a surprise note, the Estonian Cricket Association, an associate member of the International Cricket Council, has done its part as well by contributing ₹1 lakh. Despite limited resources, the association has won the hearts of numerous Indians and cricket fraternity.
"As one big cricket-loving family, we all need to work together to help each other out when we have the opportunity to do so by any means possible. With that being said, the Estonian Cricket Association is following the lead of both Brett Lee and Pat Cummins and has completed the transaction of INR 1 lakh in Bitcoin (0.027 BTC) to www.cryptorelief.in to help with the further purchasing of oxygen supplies," said ECA in a statement.
