The 2021 Indian Premier League gets underway from Friday, with Royal Challengers Bangalore taking on Mumbai Indians. The matches would be held behind closed doors owing to the rise in COVID cases in the country. Meanwhile, some of the playing contingents have also tested positive.

<p>Sams is the second RCB player to test positive. Earlier, uncapped opening Indian batsman Devdutt Padikkal had tested positive for the same on March 22 and was in ten-day home quarantine before returning to the training camp on Wednesday following a negative report.</p>
