The match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) was a close-necked clash in Abu Dhabi. It was a youngsters day, as Devdutt Padikkal from RCB and Suryakumar Yadav from MI contributed with the willow. As MI won by five wickets, here we look at the talking points of the match.
Good start to RCB
RCB were off to a fantastic start, as they were 71 in the eighth over, following which Josh Philippe departed. Besides Padikkal, Philippe managed to put up a decent show as well where he struck 33 runs off just 24 balls.
Devdutt Padikkal, who has been one of the leading run-scorers for RCB this season, came up yet another scintillating show. Alone, he smashed 74 runs off just 45 balls. With a good strike-rate of around 165, he smashed a six and 12 fours.
Jasprit Bumrah, the resting pulse for MI, presented his skill with the ball. In his spell, he conceded just 14 runs, and alone, scalped three of RCB wickets. Besides an exceptional economy rate, he amazed everyone, as he even bowled a maiden over.
Shaky MI batting
MI were off to a poor start, as they lost their key openers quite early. With no good contributions with the power hitters too, it was Suryakumar Yadav, who managed to drive MI to victory.
Scintillating Suryakumar Yadav
The batsman came at number three and showcased his repertoire with the bat, and proved his worth again. He gave a match-winning performance for his team, as he smashed 79 runs off just 43 balls. In his innings, he smashed three fours and 10 fours.
