Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) won the match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by weight wickets in Sharjah. As KXIP escalates to the fourth position and KKR slides down to the fifth, here are a few records scripted in the low scoring match.
Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) pulled off a low scoring thriller match in Sharjah. Right from the start, they were promising both with the bat and the ball and gave little mileage to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in any way. As a result, they won the match by eight wickets.
Match report: KXIP won the toss and chose to ball first. KXIP bowlers had a way with the ball who scalped three wickets for ten runs in just two overs. It was then Shubman Gill (57 runs of 45 balls) and skipper Eoin Morgan’s (40 runs of 25 balls) 81-run partnership that gave KKR the stability they required in the middle. Hence, their innings concluded at 149 runs.
In return, KXIP led the way with the bat as well. They were off to a decent start and Mandeep Singh (66 runs of 56 balls) along with Chris Gayle (51 runs of 29 balls) took KKR bowlers in for a ride as they made a 100-run stand between them. This brought an easy win in KXIP favour who won the match by eight wickets.
Dinesh Karthik becomes the fourth Indian player to play 300+ T20 matches
