IPL 2020: CSK’s quarantined Shane Watson shares glimpse of Burj Khalifa from Dubai hotel room
Dubai: Australia all-rounder Shane Watson arrived in Dubai to take part in IPL 2020. He was the first Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player to arrive in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). MS Dhoni and other players will land in Dubai today (August 21). Watson spoke about the tournament in a video. Here is what he said.
Watson said he will be quarantined for seven days with a few tests before starting training. His video was posted on the official Twitter handle of CSK.
"My 7-Day room bound quarantine here in Dubai has just started. It’s so cool to be here to get into the preparation for another exciting season of @IPL for @ChennaiIPL. #SafetyFirst #WhistlePodu #superexcited (sic)," he wrote on his Twitter account along with the same video.
He said he was excited to be back for IPL and showed the world’s tallest building Burj Khalifa from his hotel room.
He said this year’s IPL was different compared to last 12 editions. There are several guidelines to be followed by the players amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
IPL 2020 will be played in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah from September 19 to November 10.
CSK are likely to face defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in the tournament opener.
