ICC World T20 2021: Virat Kohli speaks on team selection, India-Pakistan, MS Dhoni, head coach
Team India is gearing up for ICC World T20 2021, beginning in UAE and Oman from Sunday. Meanwhile, skipper Virat Kohli has spoken on many topics ahead of the event.
It is that time of the year when India would look to prove its supremacy in the shortest format of the game, as the 2021 ICC World T20 gets underway from Sunday. India would be looking to win its second title, having not won it since winning the inaugural edition in 2007.
Also, with a few notable exclusions in the squad, fans raise their eyebrows raised. At the same time, there have barely been any changes to the team despite some promising performances from other players in the just-concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

India would be taking on arch-rival Pakistan in its opening game of the tournament on October 24. With the hype all around, Kohli clarified that although it might be a high-voltage encounter in terms of rivalry, it has always been just another match for him.
When asked about the team selection, significantly dropping leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who had a brilliant IPL 2021 season for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Kohli explained that while it was a tough call, spinner Rahul Chahar got the nod ahead of his ability to bowl with some pace. He also clarified on seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar's selection in the side despite a shaky IPL 2021 performance for SunRusers Hyderabad (SRH), crediting his tendency to be economical as the reason for him being preferred.
