Bhuvneshwar Kumar nominated for ICC Player of the Month award for March 2021
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is a seam bowler who has been prolific for Team India across formats. He returned to the international circuit during One-Day Internationals against England after a prolonged injury break and equally impactful with the ball as before.
Indian seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar made his return to international cricket last month when he participated in the limited-overs fixtures against England. After returning for a long-time injury break, Bhuvneshwar made a thumping impact.
As a result, Bhuvneshwar has been nominated for the ICC Player of the Month award for March 2021. He managed to claim ten wickets (for in T20Is and six in ODIs) in eight games and maintained an economy between 4.00 to 6.00, thus finishing as India's prime bowler in the formats.
Alongside Bhuvi, Rashid Khan (Afghanistan) and Sean Williams (Zimbabwe) have also been nominated. While Rashid claimed 17 wickets against Zimbabwe in Tests and T20Is last month, Williams scored 309 runs against Afghanistan in both formats.
As for the Women's Player of the Month, Rajeshwari Gayakwad and Punam Raut are in the contention, along with Lizelle Lee of South Africa. While Rajeshwari claimed 12 wickets across T20Is and ODIs against Protea, Raut scored 263 runs against the same side in the ODIs.
