Ahead of IPL 2020, SRH’s Vijay Shankar gets engaged, wishes pour in; see pictures
Bengaluru: India and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) all-rounder Vijay Shankar got engaged and shared pictures of the ceremony on social media. Wishes poured in from cricketers and fans. Shankar is set to travel to the UAE for IPL 2020.
FollowOn Thursday night (August 20), Shankar took to his Instagram account and posted two pictures of him with his fiancée Vaishali Visweswaran. He captioned the post with a ring emoji.
Replying to this post, Indian cricketers KL Rahul, Yuzvendra Chahal, Shreyas Iyer, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Siraj and Krunal Pandya congratulated the Tamil Nadu all-rounder.
Shankar was part of the Indian squad at the ICC World Cup 2019. So far, he has played 12 ODIs and nine T20Is.
In recent times, Shankar is the second cricketer to get engaged, after Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) legspinner Yuzvendra Chahal.
Now, Shankar will play IPL 2020 for SRH. The players are set to leave for the UAE soon. IPL 2020 will be played in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah from September 19 to November 10.
