West Bengal reports 462 new COVID-19 cases; 2 more deaths
West Bengal on Wednesday (March 24) reported 462 new COVID-19 cases taking the toll to 5,81,865. According to the state health bulletin, 2 people died in a single day in the state taking the toll to 10,312.
Out of the 2 deaths, one was reported from Kolkata and one from East Bardhaman district. However, the deaths were due to comorbidities where COVID-19 was incidental.
The new COVID-19 cases included 156 from Kolkata and 104 from North 24 Parganas district.
According to the state health bulletin, 334 people recovered in a single day in the state and returned home from the hospital. The recovery rate stands at 97.58 percent.
The number of active cases in the state currently is 3,782. Till Wednesday, 5,67,771 people have been cured of the disease in the state.
In the last 24 hours, 22,165 samples have been tested for COVID-19 in West Bengal taking the total number of such tests to 90,15,071, the bulletin said.
