West Bengal reports 1,028 new COVID-19 cases; 27 more deaths
West Bengal reported 1,028 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours pushing the tally to 5,48,471. Meanwhile, 27 fresh fatalities pushed the state’s coronavirus death toll to 9,625.
According to the state health bulletin, the cumulative number of discharged persons became 5,25,685. The recovery rate also has increased to 95.85 percent.
In a single day, 268 people were infected with COVID-19 in North 24 Parganas followed by Kolkata (200) and Howrah (71).
Out of the 27 deaths, 7 are from North 24 Parganas, 4 from Kolkata, and 4 from South 24 Parganas.
The state now has 13,161 active cases, while 5,25,685 people have been cured of the disease so far, the bulletin said.
West Bengal has so far tested over 69.93 lakh samples for COVID-19, including 28,095 in the last 24 hours.
