Coronavirus: Number of active cases dip further in West Bengal; recovery rate at 97.54%
West Bengal on Tuesday (February 16) reported 151 new COVID-19 cases taking the toll to 5,72,879. According to the state health bulletin, two fresh fatalities pushed the state’s coronavirus death toll to 10,235.
However, 255 people were recovered from COVID-19 in a single day in the state and returned home from the hospital. The recovery rate in the state stands at 97.54 percent.
Kolkata reported the highest number of new cases at 49, followed by North 24 Parganas at 41.
Out of the 2 deaths, 1 was reported from Kolkata and the other one from Hooghly.
According to the state health bulletin, the state now has 3,854 active cases.
West Bengal has so far tested over 83.35 lakh samples for COVID-19, including 19,351 in the last 24 hours, it added.
