Coronavirus: Active cases drop further in West Bengal, recover rate at 95.35%
West Bengal reports 1,628 new COVID-19 cases. According to the state health bulletin, the count for active cases in the state has reached 15,689 on Wednesday (December 23).
34 people died in a single day in the state pushing the death toll to 9,473. Out of the 34 deaths, 6 are from Kolkata and 12 from North 24 Parganas.
Besides, 2,153 recoveries were also registered on Wednesday, pushing the tally of recoveries to 5,16,462.
According to the state health bulletin, 414 cases were reported in Kolkata in a single day. So far, a total of 1,20,917 cases were reported in Kolkata. In West Bengal, a total of 5,41,624 cases were reported so far.
In North 24 Parganas, 403 people were infected with COVID in a single day. However, Kolkata tops the list of COVID infection followed by North 24 Parganas.
According to the state health bulletin, a total of 15,689 active cases were reported in the state. The recovery rate in the state remains at 95.35 percent.
