Two movies staking claim to a script have decided to approach court for a final resolve in the issue. 'Vimaanam' (Flight), a movie announced by Pradeep M Nair was based on the real-life story of Saji Thomas a deaf and mute school dropout who was in news recently for building and flying an aircraft.
Ad director Sreekanth Murali had also planned a movie with Vinneth Sreenivasan in a lead role but Pradeep Nair lodged a complaint with Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) alleging that that the story of Sreekanth Murali's project had uncanny resemblance to his venture and he had already obtained the rights from Saji Thomas to make a movie inspired by his life.
Despite FEFKA trying to settle the matter on behalf of both the directors it could not reach a final solution to the matter following which Pradeep Nair has decided to approach the court seeking an order to stop the shooting of the other movie. The makers have also decided to file a petition in the Thodupuzha Munsif court next week.
Meanwhile, the script writer of Vineeth Sreenivasan starring movie Santhosh Ecchikanam has revealed that his script is not similar to Saji Thomas' life.
