FollowMumbai: A few hours back, a shocking news of the arrest of TV actor Pearl V Puri surfaced everywhere. The actor is being arrested for alleged charges of rape and molestation of a minor.
According to a report published in Bollywoodbubble, the source said, "Pearl was arrested yesterday, June 4, late-night after a girl and her family filed a rape and molestation case against him in Mumbai. He is now under police custody. Nothing else has been known for now."
The actor reportedly asked for sexual favours to the minor, promising her a career in TV serials.
Even though the news was surfacing, there was no official confirmation from the police department. However, according to a report in SpotboyE, Mumbai Police DCP Abhishek Trimukhe has confirmed the news.
The report reads DCP's statement as, "He has been arrested by Waliv Police Station (Vasai)."Â However, more details were not shared by the DCP. Puri was reportedly arrested last night.
According to report published in TOI, he has been remanded to police custody and booked for rape and under section of The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences(POCSO) Act, said Mira Bhayander Vasai Virar (MBVV) DCP, Zone 2, Sanjay Patil.
TV actress Anita Hassanandani has come to support the actor, and actress Krystle Dsouza also lent her support to Pearl.
