  • Fans expected the Adoor Gopalakrishnan film to sweep awards, as usual
  • However, the film was ignored. Kavya Madhavan failed to figure even in the Best Actress category.
  • The jury said that they all were disappointed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan's work in Pinneyum.
This is why Dileep Kavyas Pinneyum was denied Kerala State Awards

Pinneyum, the Adoor Gopalakrishnan film, failed to bag even a single award at the prestigious Kerala State Awards. In a recent interview with a daily, jury members have revealed why Pinneyum was sidelined at the State Film Awards 2016.

Jury members revealed that the film failed to create an impact in any respect. The members seemed to feel the film was not up to par, considering that Adoor Gopalakrishnan made it. Even Kavya Madhavan failed to figure on the final nomination list in the Best Actress category, as her acting was not considered to be all that much in this film.

The jury said that they were all disappointed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan's work in Pinneyum.

This news came as a shock for all Kavya's fans, who were awaiting her to win the Best Actress trophy. The movie revolves around the complex relationship of a middle-class couple, Purushothaman Nair and Devi, played by Dileep and Kavya.

The movie failed to create any impact at the box office as well.
