FollowSantacruz police registered an FIR against former Bigg Boss contestant and actor Armaan Kohli (45) for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend Neeru Randhawa (34).
According to the report published in TOI, the incident occurred at around 4.30pm on Sunday after Armaan reportedly got out of control and attacked Randhawa at his Santacruz residence. Police found out that the motive behind the assault was over the financial crisis.
The couple were in a live-in relationship since 2015. Neeru has blamed the incident on Armaan’s temperamental issues, "He would often indulge in violent fights and then apologise, seeking for one more chance to change," she said. This time Neeru made up her mind that she wouldn’t take it anymore and not fall for his emotional blackmails.
Police visited Armaan’s Santacruz flat late on June 3 but he was not available. Randhawa suffered a serious injury to her forehead and knee after the actor hit her, in a fit of mad anger. Neeru has been hospitalised in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Mumbai. A case has been registered under sections 323, 326, 504 and 506.
Talking to TOI, Neeru who is currently in the hospital because of Armaan’s assault, said, “The argument started on a frivolous matter. I manage Armaan’s villa in Goa, which is often rented out, and had made a booking for a client. However, the client had made the payment to the villa staff, and when Armaan asked me about the money, I told him that I would ask the staff to transfer it. Suddenly, he started verbally abusing me. Before I realised what was happening, he caught me by my hair and banged my head against the floor. I begged him to allow me to go to the hospital, promising that I wouldn’t approach the police. The wound was so deep that I had to undergo a surgery. The doctor told me that the scar would be visible even after the surgery, as the assault has damaged my skin tissues. Armaan has been sending me text messages since Sunday, asking me to come back home, and he is even promising to marry me right away, but I have had enough!”
Neeru also added how she left everything for Armaan yet he ruined her life. “He had assaulted me in February this year, and nearly broke my nose. This relationship has been a huge mistake, but I continued to give him chances despite being warned by friends and family."
Armaan is infamous for his temper in the past when he has assaulted his former girlfriend. He has also openly abused, threatened and nearly hit his fellow contestant Sofia Hayat in 2013. During Bigg Boss, the Lonavala police arrested him, and later released him on bail.
Armaan Kohli is the son of film director of filmmaker Rajkumar Kohli. He is known for his appearance on the television reality show Bigg Boss. Kohli made his debut in Hindi films with Vidrohi and had since appeared in films like Qahar and Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani.
Armaan was last seen in the Salman Khan starrer Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.
