After Saroj Khan, Renuka Chowdhary and Shatrughan Sinha made a shocking statement on the casting couch in the film industry as well as in politics, an aspiring actress has narrated her ordeal of sexual exploitation on multiple occasions.
Recently actress Radhika Apte and National Award winning actress Usha Jadhav narrated an incident wherein a person asked her to sleep with filmmakers as a return favour for giving the role.
The BBC World documentary titled Bollywood's Dark Secret which will air this weekend will feature the above actresses and a 25-year-old actress who said that she was molested multiple times by a casting agent.
She narrated a horrifying incident; the actress said that he not only sexually exploited her but when she confronted him, he questioned her 'attitude' as an actress.
According to a report published in Mid-day, she said, "He started telling me that for an actress, you should be happy to have sex as and when possible, and embrace your sexuality. He touched me wherever he wanted, he kissed me wherever he wanted and I was shocked. He put his hand inside my clothes so I asked him to stop and he said: Do you know what, if you really want to work in this industry I don't think you've got the right attitude,"
The name of the actress has not been revealed in the report.
A few unnamed actors have also opened up in the BBC documentary that will be aired on Saturday afternoon, April 28. With a runtime of 20 minutes, the documentary will be shown on BBC World News.
