Sindhu, who is currently the world no.3 and has nearly 200 solo wins to her credit, became the first Indian woman to win a silver Olympic medal in the badminton singles event at Rio 2016.

Sonu has confirmed the news and said that he is hopeful that Sindhu's journey and achievements would inspire many.

Rumour has it that Bollywood star Deepika Padukone, who has a badminton background, will play Sindhu in the film. However, there has been no confirmation regarding the same.

Sindhu herself reacted to the news saying she hopes that the films inspires millions to follow their dreams.

"Looking forward to the biopic to be made by Sonu Sood and team. Hope it inspires millions to follow their dreams," Sindhu tweeted.
