Actress Shamna Kasim aka Poorna, best known to Malayalam movie buffs for her roles in the Chattakaari remake and Ali Bhai, has opened up on some bad experiences she had in Mollywood.
Shamna has also done several movies in Tamil and Telugu. Though the actress had a promising start in Malayalam, she slowly faded out of the industry.
Shamna was last seen in Malayalam in a supporting role in Mili (2015), with Amala Paul in the lead. Later, she grabbed headlines, because she alleged that director Rajesh Pillai cheated her by chopping off most of her scenes from the film.
Shamna was recently in the news after she joined the league of actresses who shaved off their precious tresses, bowing to the demand of the roles they are playing.
Now, she is back in the limelight after she opened up about some bad she experiences in the Malayalam film industry.
In the latest episode of journalist John Brittas' show JB Junction, Shamna revealed she had bagged the role to play the female lead in Dileep's Moz & Cat (2009) but was replaced just two days before the shoot began.
"I was removed from Fazil sir's Moz & Cat just two days before its shooting began. It was a dream film for me and to be part of the project. I even backed out of a Simbu movie. Fazil sir had also asked me not to attend any stage shows ahead of the project. I was okay with all that just to be part of the movie. However, two days before the shooting, Dileepettan called me to say another actress has been cast in my role."
"I was so hurt and I didn't even want to come back to Kerala. It was a time when every actress wanted to pair up with Dileep. I was friends with him and the day the movie was released, he rang me up and asked not to curse the movie. Though I told Dileep I will not do such a thing, even Fazil sir knew the project was cursed."
A few days ago, actor Anoop Chandran had alleged that Dileep had threatened him on the sets of Moz & Cat and also accused him of ruining his career.
