This actress threatens to file case on her father

Tollywood actress Shalini Pandey's latest movie Arjun Reddy is the talk of the town and has been staying in the news, all thanks to controversies.

However, Shalini Pandey the lead actress in the movie has received positive reviews for her performance. The 23-year-old actress was born in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh and completed her engineering from Global Engineering College. According to reports, she was the top of  the class but later decided to start doing theatre.

In the movie, Shalini played the role of a doctor, Preethi Shetty who fights with her parents for her love. Likewise, in her real life, she fought with her parents for her love and passion towards films.

In an interview with New Indian Express, the actress said, that her father had objected when she expressed her interest to join movies and strongly protested. In fact, Shalini had then threatened to file a case against her father after which her parents stopped talking to her. The actress comes from a culturally rich family. Her father works for the MP government and mother is a homemaker. 

However, after watching the film, Shalini's father loved her performance and liked the honesty in the film and didn’t find anything vulgar even though the movie has 16 long kissing scenes. 

Although he didn’t say these words to the actress directly, my sister conveyed the message, the actress said. Director Sandeep Reddy approached her for Preethi Shetty’s role, through her friends, just two months after she completed her education. And that too with a script by Arjun Reddy.

Shalini was not new to acting as she was a theatre-artist in her hometown Jabalpur and acted in a TV show Mann Mein Vishwaas Hain.
