Kabali witnessed a blockbuster opening all over the world. While a 74-year-old Mumbai theatre started the first show of Kabali at 3 am, SPI Cinemas in Chennai played the film across its 27 screens, which amounted to 96 shows per day.
The mad scramble at the cinema halls and fight over advance bookings have given way to an astounding box office figure. As per a report, the estimated first-day collection of 'Kabali' stands somewhere close to a whopping ₹40 crore.
And with shows pre-booked till the weekend, there is no doubt that the 'Kabali' craze will shatter Tamil box office records.
Despite all the jokes and a mixed response from critics, Rajinikanth's 159th film is expected to collect over ₹ 120 crore in its first weekend itself.
With fans ready to shell out even ₹5000 for tickets, there's no doubt that 'Kabali' will continue to keep cash registers ringing for some time now.
