Publicity or charity? Doubts drive Hansika's video viral

Recently, Tamil actress Hansika Motwani was spotted distributing clothes to the poor and homeless on the streets of Chennai. A video of Hansika's actions spread like wildfire on the internet. 

She has gotten plenty of praise for the act, with many pointing out that many celebrities seem to run charities, but few can be seen handing out the goods - so to speak.

However, since it was a very public gesture, to begin with, one cannot attribute this move to purely charitable instincts. 

Hansika herself bought such doubts out into the open thanks to her odd reaction to the video. 

On Twitter, where a fan page originally posted the video, Hansika reacted with 'surprise', wondering how the video was leaked to the internet. 

Twitterati hit back almost immediately at the hottie, pointing out the obvious - in the clip itself, Hansika was acutely aware of the video being shot. Plenty of scoldings were directed her way, noting that she shouldn't try to act surprised nor should she be doing such things for publicity.

Either way, as they say - No publicity is bad publicity.
