The trailer of Bellbottom has already created a buzz on the internet. But what caught's everyone's attention is how effortlessly Lara Dutt sank into the character of Indira Gandhi? What, did you have a hard time recognising her, so did we.
Lara Dutta has undoubtedly pulled off one of the bravest roles in her career of two decades. Lara plays the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the film that also stars Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor and Huma Qureshi.
The film is based on a true story that follows an undercover RAW agent (played by Akshay Kumar) who rescues 210 hostages from a hijacked Indian plane. But apart from Kumar, Lara's dramatic transformation as Indira Gandhi has roped in maximum attention. Talking bout her role as Indira Gandhi, Lara said it is a great responsibility to play an iconic figure like her. She hopes that audience will go to the theatre to watch the film. She further said that it was essential to get the body language right as it deals with a highjack situation during Gandhi's tenure.
Lara also did a lot of homework and research that went on behind it. The actress calls it an opportunity of a lifetime. BellBottom will be the first Hindi film to have a theatrical release amid a pandemic.
The film will release on August 19.
