From Ide Nadu Ide Bashe song from Thirugu Baana film in 1983 to Karunada Thayi in Nannu Nanna Hendathi in 1985 and Vishnuvardhan starrer Jeevanadhi in the 1996 film’s song Kannada Nadina Jeevanadhi, songs of SP Balasubrahmanyam make the Rajyotsava celebrations seem complete.

The Singer who was born in a Telugu Brahmin family in Andhra Pradesh debuted in the Kannada film industry through Narasimha Raju starrer Nakkare Ade Swarga and recorded 'Kanasido Nanasido' in 1966. He went on to become the voice for rebel star Ambareesh, Vishnuvardhan, Ravichandran, Dwarkesh, and other leading actors in Kannada.

The singer was the first pick for music composer Hamsalekha and the duo has given fans unforgettable songs.

In many orchestras, be it during Ganesha festival or Kannada Rajyotsava and any state government programme, SPB's songs in praise of the Kannada language, rich heritage and love for the river Kaveri finds first place.

With over 40,000 songs in 16 languages he embraced diversity and won the hearts of many people across regions.

The singer is no more, but through his renditions like Kannada Nadina Jeevanadhi, Karnatakada  Ithihasadali and few other songs, he will live on in the hearts of his fans in Karnataka.
